We’re representing a global analytics provider that supports major consumer brands and retailers through its cutting-edge platforms. Following a strategic acquisition, they’re now looking to appoint a UK-based Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to support their UK SaaS platform. This is a technical, production-facing role focused on the stability, performance, and availability of enterprise-scale Oracle environments, running on Windows Server. Over time, the successful candidate will also have the opportunity to cross-skill into Microsoft SQL Server as the broader group’s infrastructure evolves.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer, monitor, and optimise Oracle databases supporting the UK platform
- Manage backup, recovery, upgrades, patching, and high availability configurations
- Support schema changes, performance tuning, and database-level troubleshooting
- Collaborate with development and support teams to resolve operational issues
- Document configurations and procedures to support continuity and knowledge sharing
- Participate in on-call support and maintenance activities
- Grow your skills into MS SQL Server and broader platform support over time
Requirements:
- Strong experience as a production Oracle DBA
- In-depth knowledge of Oracle 12c/19c, RMAN, and Oracle Enterprise Manager
- Strong SQL and PL/SQL development and tuning skills
- Experience running Oracle on Windows Server
- Sound understanding of security, backup, and high availability
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Interest in, exposure of, or experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2016+)
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS or Azure)
- Experience supporting SaaS or enterprise-grade applications
