We’re seeking a Senior Marine Engineer to join our team in Fareham, supporting commercial marine vessel projects across their full lifecycle—from concept and procurement to in-service support and upgrades.

About the Role

As a Senior Marine Engineer, you’ll lead the delivery of technical marine engineering solutions across a wide range of vessels, focusing on lightweight, high-speed craft for UK and international clients. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing marine mechanical systems using 2D and 3D CAD tools
  • Conducting surveys and engineering investigations
  • Leading technical projects and interfacing with suppliers and clients
  • Supporting R&D initiatives and sustainability-focused innovations
  • Contributing to design improvements, build efficiency, and technical reporting

You’ll also have opportunities to support consulting and R&D projects in related markets, including submarines and defence.

About You

You should have:

  • HND, HNC, or Degree in Marine or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years' marine design experience (15–70m+ vessels)
  • Strong AutoCAD 2D skills; 3D CAD proficiency is a plus
  • Experience with system schematics, ship specs, technical drawings
  • Solid knowledge of construction materials, classification rules, and integration challenges
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status is highly desirable, or you should be working toward it.
