The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

Working in a hybrid style, based at home and East Area Housing office, you will work full time, 37 hours per week.

Requirements

  • You will be qualified to Membership level of the Institute of Fire Engineers or have fire safety enforcement experience with a fire and rescue service and fire risk assessment accredited training, eg provided by the Institute of Fire Engineers, or similar.

Responsibilities

  • You will ensure Council compliance with fire safety legislation through the provision of fire risk assessments, fire safety advice and fire safety solutions.

The Individual

  • You will have experience in undertaking fire risk assessments and the production of action plans.
  • You will have comprehensive knowledge of fire safety, building standards and sector guidance from the Scottish Government and relevant British Standards, with currency of knowledge through Continued Professional Development.
  • You will have the ability to deal with Health and Safety matters in particular with property, staff and clients.
  • You will have the ability to find solutions to Fire Safety problems, with particular reference to new legislation.
  • You will have the ability to initiate, implement and maintain a programme of fire risk assessments and monitoring action plans and audits.
  • You will have the ability to formulate Fire Safety Policies and critically review complex designs, plans and strategies to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
  • You must be computer literate with experience of spreadsheets, MS Word, etc.
  • You must have extensive property experience as well as Fire Safety competence with the ability to advise and liaise with all levels of management staff and client groups.
  • You will have a current driving licence.
