We are looking for an H&S professional with a strong highways and civil (Highway Maintenance, Road Surfacing, Streetlighting, Road Marking, Traffic Management, Infrastructure and Civil) background to support the HSE Team.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Provide H&S compliance advice to the business.
- Undertake H&S compliance audits, incident investigations, identify and implement effective corrective actions.
- Mentor employees at all levels of the business to ensure safe delivery of, and improvements to, the management systems and improve safety culture throughout the organisation.
- Undertake/review company risk assessments, compile method statements & procedures and manage conformity.
- Carry out incident investigations (accidents, service strikes, and near misses) and implement effective corrective action.
- Maintain statistics relating to these areas.
- Carry out compliance evaluations and maintain legal register.
- Work closely with contracts managers and supervisors ensuring company H&S policies and procedures are being adhered to throughout all business activities.
- Work together with our growing Health and Safety team and report on QHSE performance to H&S Manager.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:
- Ideally NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent, or a minimum NEBOSH Construction Certificate or Equivalent.
- Previous Health and Safety Advisor/Manager experience in a highways/civil background is a must.
- Good working knowledge of CDM and Temporary works.
- Experience of providing sound health and safety advice, drafting safe systems and implementing controls on civil engineering sites.
- FULL UK driving license.
