Summary: The RN Clinical Nurse provides patient-centered, specialized, evidence-based nursing care across the continuum through an interprofessional approach to treatment, research, education, and advocacy. The nurse contributes to department goals by delivering compassionate, safe care within the scope of practice as defined by the Wisconsin Board of Nursing and ThedaCare policy. Collaborating with the care team, the RN is responsible for achieving high-quality patient outcomes and fostering a culture of innovation, growth, and professional development.

RN directs nursing care in a collaborative model, practicing at the top of their licensure within a high-functioning team. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams is essential.
A Little Bit About Us: Our 24-bed surgical unit cares for a variety of surgical patients from pre-op to discharge during their hospital stay.
Schedule: Night Shift 5:30 pm - 6 am, 0.75 FTE (60 hrs. per pay period) (3-12 hr. shifts in the first week and 2-12 hr. shifts in the second week), Every third weekend and rotating holidays.
Key Accountabilities:
- Utilize the nursing process, evidence-based practice, and specific competencies to assess patients' physical condition and nursing needs.
- Develop a care plan collaboratively with the patient and interprofessional team.
- Plan patient care to ensure the highest quality outcomes.
- Demonstrate clinical expertise in the assigned specialty and perform all functions of a professional RN, tailored to age, development, and culture.
- Identify opportunities to improve patient experience, streamline processes, and reduce costs while maintaining quality.
- Foster a professional environment encouraging mentoring, engagement, and development.
- Maintain positive relationships with physicians and team members, collaborating to enhance patient care.
- Proactively manage risks and respond effectively to life-threatening emergencies.
Qualifications:
- Current Wisconsin RN Licensure
- Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS)
Physical Demands: Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, pulling), lift up to 50 pounds without assistance, and perform patient care procedures requiring manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Work involves exposure to blood-borne pathogens, communicable diseases, hazardous materials, and occasional contact with aggressive patients.
Work Environment: Frequent exposure to sharp instruments, occasional exposure to fumes, chemicals, electrical hazards, and high noise levels. Extended standing/walking and patient/equipment transfers are required.
