Join Stena Line as our Regional Harbour Master, leading our marine operations with safety, efficiency and compliance at the forefront! As the Regional Harbour Master, you will oversee the safe and effective operation of our marine craft, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing emergency response planning, and leading the Marine Department with accountability for budget input and performance at the three Stena Line owned Ports located at Holyhead, Fishguard and Cairnryan.

Some of your key responsibilities:
- Regulate vessel movements and manage the Marine Department budget, ensuring efficient, safe, and cost-effective services while maintaining legal and regulatory compliance.
- Lead the Marine Department, ensuring the Pilotage Service meets statutory requirements and overseeing marine health and safety, risk assessments, and compliance with safety codes and best practices.
- Act as operational commander in marine emergencies, manage emergency planning, including the Oil Spill Response Plan, and conduct investigations into marine incidents.
- Supervise the safe operation of marine craft, including Pilot Boats, Tugs, and other assets, and manage conservancy, dredging operations, and aids to navigation (AtoNs).
- Ensure timely maintenance and monitoring of aids to navigation, issuing Local Notices to Mariners and Navigation Warnings as necessary.
- Ensure training compliance for marine staff, conduct risk assessments for safe working and navigational hazards, and ensure proper information flow to employees and contractors.
- Support other Deputy Harbour Masters as needed and ensure employees have the necessary training, equipment, and communication systems.
- Oversee compliance with Marine Planned Maintenance systems and Workboat Edition 3 standards.

Requirements:
- Master Mariner Unlimited STCW A-II/1, Recognised Harbour Master Diploma/Certificate, or active participation in UKHMA 'Harbour Master – Continuous Professional Development' with 200 points in the last 5 years.
- In-depth knowledge of the Convention on the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (COLREGs).
- Strong understanding of Marine Navigation Safety, Health & Safety, and relevant codes.
- Familiarity with the Ports and Marine Facilities Safety Code and associated guidelines.
- OPRC OSR Level 4 or 5 Oil Spill Management (IMO Equivalent).
- Experience in marine risk management and incident investigation, including Root Cause Analysis.
- Strong organisational, analytical, and communication skills.
