Minimum qualifications for teaching in the academic programs are a master's degree in the teaching discipline or a master's degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline (a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline). A terminal degree is preferred. Significant business experience may substitute for academic credentials in some cases.
These appointments are on a course by course basis. Salary is commensurate with education, experience and discipline. These postings are continuous in order to develop a qualified pool of interested candidates. If your academic area of interest/expertise meets the programmatic needs of WCU at any time, you will be contacted to discuss proposed teaching opportunities. These needs change from semester to semester.
Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in the teaching discipline or a master's degree with a concentration in the discipline (a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in teaching discipline). All degrees must be from an accredited institution.
Preferred Qualifications: Terminal degree with eighteen hours in field of specialization. Industry experience or academic experience is also a plus.
All new employees are required to have listed credentials/degrees verified within 30 days of employment. All new employees who will be teaching are required to provide official transcripts within 30 days of employment. Transcripts should be provided for the highest earned degree and/or the degree which is being used to satisfy credential/qualification requirements.
