At ABP Doncaster, our Supply Chain Practitioner Apprenticeship Programme offers you the opportunity to develop essential skills and knowledge in supply chain operations. As a Planning & Operations Apprentice, you'll be an integral part of our Planning & Production team, assisting with queries and delivering key information promptly.

Location: Doncaster, South Yorkshire

Salary: £27,000 per year

Hours of Work: Monday to Saturday, 7am - 4.30pm (with a rolling day off)

Reporting to: Planning Manager

Start Date: Negotiable - We will work around your current job or education commitments.

What You'll Do:

As a Planning/Operations Apprentice at ABP Doncaster, you'll be working as part of the Planning & Production team to assist with queries and helping to deliver key information that is delivered timely. With ongoing support from Day 1, the team will be offering guidance and support with completing your Level 3 Supply Chain apprenticeship which will be underpinned with opportunities to apply your learning to your role.

Throughout your programme, you'll work towards completing a variety of tasks and taking ownership for a number of areas including:

  • Coordinate products and services
  • Ensure achievement of supply chain quality
  • Apply continuous improvement
  • Apply a structured approach to solving problems
  • Compile reports
  • Conduct supplier performance monitoring
  • Use data management systems
  • Identify and manage risk
  • Manage customer accounts to ensure payment
  • Liaise with internal and external customers
  • Support inventory management activities
  • Support end to end supply chain planning
  • Comply with industry and organisational policy

All of this may sound a little daunting but full training and support will be provided.

Who We're Looking For:

You don't need experience - just the right attitude and the drive to learn! If you're someone who:

  • Is curious, eager to learn, and ready to make a difference.
  • Is organised and good at meeting deadlines.
  • Has an eye for detail and likes to get things right.
  • Feels comfortable speaking up and sharing ideas, then we'd love to hear from you!

What You'll Need:

  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs, with a Grade C/4 or above in Maths and English.
  • No formal experience is required as full training will be given. However, we are looking for an individual who is keen to learn, can manage their time well, and is looking to continually develop their skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to take direction.
  • Focus on attention to detail and maintaining high standards.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel, to a competent level.
