About the Role
We are seeking a Traffic Management Technical Officer to support the work of our high-performing Traffic Management Team. The team covers traffic management, road safety, Traffic Regulation Orders (including temporary orders), and operational elements of public transport.
About You
What We Are Looking For:
- Experience: Experience of working in an office-based technical and/or engineering environment, working closely with other technical staff. The ability and confidence to carry out site inspections and visits, sometimes meeting with others. An understanding of traffic management, walking, wheeling, cycling, and public transport infrastructure.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of techniques which can be used to address traffic management, transport, highway, and safety issues on the public highway, and a good awareness of the traffic and transport challenges faced by the Council.
- Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills, the ability to produce drawings, attention to detail, and a commitment to team working and individual development.
- Innovation: An inquisitive nature and willing to ask questions and challenge existing processes, and also the confidence to work on your own initiative.

Work Environment: This role offers the flexibility of blended working, with time split between home and our award-winning Civic Centre in Keynsham, conveniently located between Bath and Bristol. Hot desking options are also available at the Guildhall in Bath.
