Electrical Estimator

Base pay range A well-established electrical engineering company is looking for an experienced Electrical Estimator to join their team. This role is essential in the pre-construction phase, ensuring accurate cost estimates for electrical and BMS systems across commercial and industrial sectors. The successful candidate will play a key role in securing bids, maximizing project profitability, and delivering cost-effective solutions that align with client expectations and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Analyse project plans and specifications to determine the full scope of electrical work. Identify potential risks and opportunities, providing strategic solutions. Collaborate with design teams to resolve discrepancies and incorporate client feedback. Prepare detailed cost estimates, covering materials, labour, and equipment. Obtain and negotiate supplier and subcontractor quotations to secure the best terms. Conduct site visits with clients to discuss project requirements and scope. Participate in post-tender negotiations and project handovers. Work closely with project managers to assist in cost monitoring and control. Follow up on submitted bids and proposals, addressing client queries. Utilize estimating software to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Stay up to date with industry regulations and best practices. Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients. Qualifications & Experience Minimum 2 years of experience in an electrical estimating role. Strong understanding of electrical systems, materials, and installation methods. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications. Proficiency in industry-specific estimating tools and Microsoft Excel.
