Lead Geotechnical Engineer

Access Talent Group has partnered with an SME Geotechnical, Structural and Geosciences consultancy to support their Geotechnical Engineering team expansion. Our client has multiple offices located across Europe, with the majority of their team based in Central London and Birmingham. Due to continued success and new contracts being awarded in Australia, the UK, and Europe, our client is looking to add a Principal Geotechnical Engineer or Geotechnical Engineering Lead to their London OR Birmingham office.

The successful candidate will be expected to hit the ground running and get involved from day one on legacy projects, as well as new design schemes for large-scale infrastructure programmes. Our client is looking for candidates who can contribute heavily to the technical part of the team, leading the design process for rail, highways, and tunnelling contracts across Europe and the UK. Previous commercial-focused experience and business development is not essential due to the unique nature of this purely technical-focused role. Our client would also require you to contribute to the mentoring of junior or graduate engineers, allowing you to develop your soft skills. This role will require a small amount of travel from time to time, visiting client offices and project sites.

To qualify for this role, candidates must have:

• Right to live and work in the UK
• A degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or similar
• Achieved Chartered Engineer status or be close to doing so
• Experience in Geotechnical Infrastructure projects – Preferably Tunnelling Experience
• The ability to work in a London Office or Birmingham office 3 days a week
