We are looking for a Storekeeper to join our Gold Standard security service and provide a crucial role to the business requiring resilience, vigilance, and alertness. If you can demonstrate this from past or current experiences, we want to hear from you and see this detailed in your CV.
We require our Storekeepers to have good written and verbal communication skills, be competent in the use of IT skills as there is quite a lot of computer work with this role. You will provide administrative support to the MGS in their Area of Responsibility (AOR) and to Business outputs as assigned by MGS Head Office. Through this role, you will be delivering front line support to managers and employees via handling day to day queries. The Position is required to be full time but flexible to assist the current Storekeepers in a very busy stores/logistical environment. This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
The Ministry of Defence Guard Service (MGS) provides high quality security services at over 170 MOD sites across the United Kingdom. The MGS has guarded the Defence Estate for over 30 years including high profile locations such as MOD Main Building in London, Whitehall and His Majesty’s Naval Bases at Portsmouth, Devonport, and the Clyde. We provide access control, military working dogs, control room operations and other security services. We play a vital role supporting the Defence Mission and work to protect the Defence estate and personnel from crime, terrorism, espionage, and sabotage threats.
The MGS has over 2,700 employees. MGS Security Officers are often the first point of contact for employees, visitors and contractors on sites and we pride ourselves on our professional, customer-focused culture.

The Successful Applicant Will Be Expected To:
- Demand stores (Including PPE)
- Issue/receipt of Uniformed items using the stores system, MJDI (Management of the Joint Deployed inventory) following training if required.
- Pick Stock in readiness for onward shipping.
- Back-loading of Uniform using MJDI
- Deal with outside agencies for collection of waste disposal
- Main office support and administration tasks including correspondences
- Maintaining documentation for stores accounting and auditing
- Additional store keeping tasks as they arise.
Environmental Factors/Hazards Associated with this Post: Some heavy lifting will be required.
