A leading MSP based in Central London seeks to bring an experienced Head of Project Management Office to join its Highly Accredited Operations. Responsibilities include overseeing the Project Managers, Client Onboarding, and Projects Engineering Teams. The Project Management Office comprises x1 Senior Project Manager and x1 Project Manager. The Projects Engineering team consists of 7 engineers (x2 TDE, x3 PDE, x1 SharePoint Specialist, x1 Security Apprentice) and x2 Head of Services. This role requires a balance of technical knowledge, leadership skills, and a strong focus on successful project delivery, preferably within a Managed IT Services environment using PRINCE2 practices. This role would suit someone with hands-on experience running technical staff and delivering managed IT projects within an MSP IT Service Environment. The role requires 3 days in the office to ensure you drive the team and department forward; this is a mandatory requirement and is non-negotiable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Part of the Senior Leadership and Technical Leadership Teams within the organisation
- Work closely with PMO & Projects Engineering Teams to deliver Continuous Service Improvement to Client Onboarding experience and delivery of Managed IT Projects
- Report directly to the CTO/Executive Management Team
- Strategic Planning - Development of long-term goals for PMO Team members and the Department's engineering resources
- Governance - Review PMO Processes (or lack of them) and put them in place together with procedures to ensure consistent project management practices
- Project Resource Management - Overseeing allocation and management of resources across Projects to optimize efficiency and effectiveness
- Project Resource Forecasting - Provide Project Resource Forecasting processes and methodologies to the Project Managers to use
- Projects such as Client Onboarding and key Clients - Working on a small portfolio of projects, including Client Onboarding and preparing work plans for some key client projects
- Project Quality Management - All projects should have quality management derived from client feedback at the closure stage and fed back into the Continuous Improvement Cycle
- Continuous Improvement - Promote a culture of continuous improvement within PMO and the projects it oversees
- Arrange Project Socials promoting the Fitz culture and fostering bonding between the project team as a whole
- Liaise with the Helpdesk Manager for any operational handovers/matters as required
Skills:
- Hands-on Technical Experience in managing engineering teams for Managed IT Projects
- PRINCE2 Framework knowledge to apply within the current Projects Department
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Calm and effective communicator
- Ability to prioritise own workload and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

Experience:
- Strong understanding of Microsoft cloud technologies (Teams and Azure)
- Strong understanding of Managing IT Security Projects using Microsoft stack of services
- Relevant experience of 3+ years in a similar role (preference given to candidates with UK MSP experience)
- Working Experience with ITSM tools such as ConnectWise, BrightGauge, SmileBack, ITBoost, Service Now
Qualifications:
- A degree in an IT-related subject
- PRINCE2 Practitioner Certification for Project Management
- Microsoft Certifications would be a bonus
