PLC Software Engineer required for control system solutions provider based in Bury St Edmunds. The candidate should have extensive experience developing complex PLC applications and be able to generate technical documentation i.e. functional design specification, user manuals etc. They will need to have motor control and/or electrical test & commissioning experience.

PLC Software Engineer role includes the following:

  • Developing & maintaining software applications on both new innovative research & development projects.
  • Maintaining & supporting existing projects to customers' requirements.
  • Developing or modifying the PLC application and completing application testing within a product factory test environment.

Key requirements:

  • Experience developing complex PLC applications.
  • Knowledge of multiple programming languages.
  • Knowledge of industrial network protocols (Modbus TCP/IP, Modbus RTU, Profinet, CAN Bus).
  • Ability to generate technical documentation i.e. functional design specification, user manuals etc.

Desirable experience/knowledge:

  • Siemens PLC/HMI.
  • Mitsubishi PLC/HMI.
  • Allen Bradley PLC/HMI.
  • Unitronics PLC/HMI.
  • Schneider PLC/HMI.
  • 3 phase 400v + 1 phase 230v electrical theory and understanding of electronic components.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected, well-established control systems company. Hours of work Monday to Friday, 8.30am-5.00pm. Salary according to experience. Company bonus and 25 days holiday.
