Are you a skilled Planning Consultant looking for flexibility, purpose, and a great team environment? At Fluent Architectural Design Services, we specialise in high-quality residential design across Surrey, Berkshire, and West London. We’re now seeking a Planning Consultant to join our dynamic in-house team of designers and planning experts.
About the Role
As our Planning Consultant, you’ll play a vital role in guiding residential planning strategies—from feasibility assessments to full application submissions. You’ll collaborate closely with our design team to ensure our projects not only meet planning policy requirements but also reflect the aspirations of families and developers across the region.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Advise on planning strategy for residential extensions, loft conversions, and new builds
- Prepare, submit, and manage planning applications to local authorities
- Conduct initial site feasibility reviews and planning assessments
- Draft Planning Statements, Design & Access Statements, and other supporting documents
- Liaise with local planning authorities and handle post-submission follow-up
- Keep up-to-date with national and local planning policies and changes in legislation
- Support clients through the planning journey with clear and confident communication
What We’re Looking For
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in UK town planning (either private or local authority sector)
- Strong understanding of residential planning policy and procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple applications and deadlines confidently
- MRTPI Chartered or working towards chartership (desirable but not essential)
- A collaborative mindset and a proactive, client-focused approach
