The predicted salary is between 40000 - 55000 £ per year.
AACE has a number of excellent opportunities for qualified and experienced senior environmental specialists to join our safety and environmental team. Applicants will ideally have worked in the military or supporting defence organisations and had exposure to providing environmental protection contributions into defence.
You will be working within an experienced team of subject matter experts (SMEs) providing environmental protection advice, guidance and leadership in a range of air, sea and land projects and programmes. You will need to be conversant with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) as well as possess strong written and oral English skills.
Tasks will be focused on support to our Senior Environmental Practitioners and include the development of environmental impact assessments and integration of environmental protection work with safety engineering outputs. The right candidate may also provide technical contributions to bids and proposal writing.
Role characteristics include the desire to provide high-quality support and outputs to meet client requirements, and a pro-active, flexible and constructive approach.
Key skills and experience:- Experience in successfully delivering environmental management and/or sustainability support to defence and supporting organisations;
- Working knowledge of the defence Project Oriented Environmental Management System (POEMS) processes;
- Working knowledge of ISO14000 series (Environmental Management);
- Clear communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills and the ability to apply these confidently;
- Competent with the full MS Office 365 suite of applications;
- Ability to hold SC security clearance;
- Training or qualification in environmental or sustainability aspects such as: Assessment and management of Environmental Impact(s) for UK MOD programmes; Environmental Aspect, Environmental Impact Priority development and justification; Environmental Working Group (EWG) workshop experience;
- Membership of a related institute or institution such as the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA).
