Waste Operative

We require a Waste Operative based at Mercedes Benz, Delaware Drive, Tongwell.

40 hours per week Mon-Fri

06:00-15:00

£12.36 per hour

A quick look at the role

The Waste Operator will be operating counterbalance FLT and cardboard balers, so an FLT license is required; baler training can be provided.

Your core responsibilities

• Processing various waste materials presented at each campus.
• Capturing and recording all data accurately as required.
• Sorting waste into appropriate streams.
• Operating machinery including Forklift Counterbalances and Balers.
• Upholding all health and safety and company procedures.
• Signing in at the beginning of each shift and signing out at the end.
• Reporting accidents, near misses, and incidents promptly.
• Reporting issues to the Team Leader, Supervisor, or Contract Manager that could impact operations.
• Ensuring the correct PPE is worn at all times on site.
• Adhering to customer site policies and procedures in line with Biffa.
• Promoting a positive safety, health, and wellbeing culture on site.
• Maintaining good customer care and positive interactions with customers, drivers, and stakeholders.
• Maintaining housekeeping to the high standards required by Biffa.
