Campus and Building Services Custodial Worker – $10.50/hour

These positions care for one or more of the following duties in Central Campus buildings during the school year, including but are not limited to: Event preparation (Set Up/Tear Down), Trash/recycling removal, and General Cleaning. There are many different shift options available to work with your class schedule.

Shift options:

Days and/or Evening hours
Weekday and/or Weekend hours
1 to 20 hours a week (based on your availability and request).
Option to pick up extra hours on a weekly basis (please ask about this option).

Primary Duties

1. Clean campus buildings for class and group usage. This may include the use of various cleaning equipment such as upright or backpack vacuums and other cleaning machines.
2. Follow standard cleaning procedures and an outline of work as determined by the Building Supervisor.
3. Remove trash and recycling.
4. Complete set up and tear down for events; may move furniture.
5. Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.

Secondary Duties

1. Collect lost and found items.
2. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Experience Required: None, will train.
Experience Preferred: Any previous employment, cleaning, event setup.

Have pride in themselves as well as the work they do
Ability to work independently without direct supervision
Possess full range of physical motion, able to stand or walk for long periods of time
Able to handle cleaning chemicals
Think creatively

Dress Code Requirements

Jeans or modest shorts, closed-toed shoes

Special Working Conditions

Work schedules are arranged around class schedules
Regular workday usually 1 to 3 hours per day/night.
Weekday and weekend hours available.
Must possess full range of physical motion and be able to stand or walk for long periods of time as demanded by cleaning/event set-up tasks
Some positions must work the night before classes start.
Must be able to handle cleaning chemicals.
