Through on-the-job training with a one-day a week release to college, you will learn laboratory skills whilst working towards a Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship with HNC in Applied Science.

As a Labcorp Apprentice you will be working to contribute to the success of the business to develop drug solutions to improve health and lives across the globe. In addition to the lab skills and qualification you will receive, we support your professional development and career exploration through program workshops, leadership speakers, employee resource group introductions, new hire panel discussions and small group ‘coffee chats’.

The Role: As a Business Administrator Apprentice within Labcorp, you will play an integral role in supporting all aspects of the Archives team at our Harrogate site. Following a comprehensive induction process and carefully-tailored training program, you will acquire a comprehensive knowledge and practical training in all aspects of clinical trials and bringing miracles of medicine to market.

This is an introductory role that would suit someone looking for their first step in a career within the science industry with a defined career progression pathway.

Duties:

  • Performs any combination of archive tasks, including labeling, receipt, transferring, tracking, inventory, archival, shipping, and disposal of samples and/or materials with assistance and supervision.
  • Sample accession core tasks, including box opening, inventory/labeling, receipt/store, and pulls/returns with assistance and supervision.
  • Uses tracking systems as appropriate to maintain sample and study integrity with training and supervision.
  • Accurate protocol and relevant documentation interpretation (i.e., Sample Analysis Outline, client paperwork) with assistance.
  • Document and communicate discrepancies to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain client and business confidentiality.
  • Contributes to a cohesive team environment.
  • Communicates effectively with internal customers (and occasionally external with supervision and assistance).
  • Ensures adherence to company Global/Regional/Local SOP’s as appropriate.
  • Complies with relevant Environmental, Health and Safety at work regulations and Company Policies.
  • Attain competency with environmental system monitor as appropriate.
  • Help with maintaining storage units.

Education/Qualifications:

  • Educated to GCSE or equivalent.
  • Strong English writing and communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment.
  • Great attention to detail.
