Winter Maintenance - HGV 2 Gritter Drivers

Key Responsibilities:

• To assist in loading the vehicle with sufficient grit to undertake the assigned route.
• To drive and safely operate the computer to ensure the grit is appropriately distributed (full training will be provided)

• Safely operate HGV 2 gritting vehicles on designated routes

• Carry out pre-use checks and ensure vehicle readiness before deployment

• Follow route plans and spreading schedules accurately and responsibly

• Maintain clear and accurate records of spreading activities and mileage

• Assist with other depot duties during downtime (as required)

?? Essential Requirements

• Minimum 3 years\’ proven experience driving HGV Class 2 vehicles

• Valid CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence)

• Valid Digital Tachograph Card

• Comfortable with early starts and responding to call-outs at short notice

• Good local road knowledge of Trafford and surrounding areas is beneficial

• Reliable, safety-conscious, and capable of working independently
