Leonardo have an exciting opportunity within the Manufacturing and Supply Chain function for an experienced Manufacturing – Assistant Planning Manager who will be reporting to the Line of Business Planning Manager.
The role of the Assistant Planning Manager is to support the LOB’s Planning Manager, where they will support the accountability for the integrity and achievability of the Master Production Schedule (MPS) supporting a Line of Business through engagement with all key stakeholders. Responsible for ensuring that Inventory is optimised, including safety stock and generic plant stock, including managing Dead Stock process. Responsible for monitoring and managing demand variability for internal make and external supply items, maintain supply chain master data. Support the cleanup of Overdue REQ’s through Demand management.
What you will do as an Assistant Planning Manager for Manufacturing:
- Support the Line Business Planning Manager in the integrity of the LOB Master Production Schedule.
- Ensure inventory is optimised in accordance with Best Practices including Safety Stock Levels, Safety Time application, Plant Stock management, Dead and Slow-moving Stock management.
- Adhere to Demand/Supply/Capacity management processes by supporting Demand / Requisition / Supply and Capacity meetings on a weekly basis with the introduction of the new Dashboards.
- Proactively interface with the wider IPT (Manufacturing Project Manager/Operations Manager/Project Manager/Procurement Manager and Supply Chain Material Leads) to ensure robust MPS Planning from Operations perspective.
- Work with Planning Manager to ensure the plan is executable as it moves into the time-fenced phase including analysis of data on forward load and capacity planning (Labour, Material & Machines) against the MPS.
- Understand the impact of repairs, BOM accuracy and RTV upon plans.
- Through simulation, review demand and supply variability, escalate as required to Procurement / Project and maintain correct levels of safety stock & safety time.
- Maintain data integrity by ensuring effective resolution of any master data issues.
What You Will Need:
- HND/Degree in relevant subject.
- Professional qualification - IOM/APICS preferably.
- Stakeholder management including influencing and negotiation skills.
- Process Driven Methodology.
- Relevant company systems & process knowledge (SAP/MRP/MII/PDMM).
- Materials / Inventory management.
- Company LCM process.
- SCOR / ARIS / BMS knowledge.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing & continuous improvement techniques.
- Understanding of company cost systems & performance measures.
- Good all-round computer literacy, including all Microsoft Office applications.
- Awareness of SHE legislation, company requirements and procedures.
- Experience implementing and managing change in a planning, MPS & Inventory control role.
