At Journey Further, we don’t just deliver results – we push the boundaries of what’s possible. Founded in the UK in 2017, the agency has rapidly grown to over 160 specialists across offices in London, Leeds, Manchester and New York City, all on a mission to take brands beyond the limits of performance, platform optimization, and human potential. As a global, full-service digital media agency, we believe in transparency, innovation, and expertise to create partnerships that drive real, measurable impact.

We are looking for a confident and data-driven Resource Manager to join our growing Operations team. You will take ownership of capacity planning, reporting and resource allocation across our integrated teams, ensuring the right people are working on the right work at the right time. This role goes beyond coordination, it ensures delivery operates with clarity and pace through smart, data-led resourcing decisions. You will proactively monitor project health, accurately forecast capacity against future demand, and confidently develop efficient and scalable ways of working.

What you will do:

  • Independently manage and allocate resources (permanent and freelance) across product teams based on capacity, capability and commercial priorities
  • Own end-to-end resource management process in Screendragon, ensuring up-to-date, accurate, structured data that underpins critical decisions
  • Act as a key partner to Product Leads, providing strategic resourcing guidance, capacity analysis and identifying risks early
  • Develop and maintain clear process documentation to support consistent ways of working and cross-team understanding
  • Oversee freelance resourcing, managing availability, rate cards, and bookings
  • Refine processes to standardise and scale the resourcing approach across teams and regions
  • Deliver clear, consistent and insightful resourcing reports (utilisation, scheduled vs. actual, capacity forecasts, etc)
  • Analyse data to make insightful, informed decisions.
  • Interpret scope and budget information to recommend appropriate hours allocations per project, ensuring proposed plans are operationally viable and commercially sound
  • Work with a variety of costing models including ratchet fees, time-based allocations, and cost reallocation within retainers
  • Champion accuracy in project hygiene data by auditing inputs and coaching teams on time tracking, briefs, and system usage
  • Track and report on all core metrics
  • Partner with the Resourcing Director to implement and evolve the agency-wide resourcing model
  • Identify bottlenecks, future skills gaps and resourcing conflicts
  • Collaborate closely with Finance, Platform Ops, Talent and Client Experience to align on forecasts, headcount and profitability goals
  • Foster a culture of proactive, data-led resource management across departments

Requirements:

  • You have 3+ years in a resource management role in a creative, digital or integrated agency
  • You have proven experience with Professional Services Automation systems or resource planning platforms – ideally Screendragon
  • You have a strong understanding of delivery functions (e.g. Creative, Strategy, Paid Media, Organic)
  • You can own reporting and presenting insights to leadership
  • You have experience influencing stakeholders across multiple disciplines and levels
  • You’re highly competent in data analysis, scenario modelling and reporting
  • You’re an excellent communicator – able to coach, challenge and influence with credibility
  • You’re calm under pressure and highly organised, able to juggle competing priorities
  • You’re a confident decision-maker with good judgement and commercial awareness
  • You’re adept at balancing short-term resource needs with long-term capacity planning
  • Highly collaborative and proactive – you lead with solutions
