As the Banquet Captain, you’re the life of the party, managing all the moving parts of catering to ensure an unforgettable experience for guests. You’re the go-to “host” for all events, making sure everything from setup to cleanup runs smoothly and efficiently. What We Offer: Opportunities for Growth within the Organization Employee Golf Privileges Chef Prepared Shift Meals at No Cost to Employees Ongoing Country Club/Hospitality Training and Experience Employee Discounts Pre-Function: Attend BEO meetings as needed and schedule staff for efficient service. Collaborate with the F&B Manager to order and organize linens. Assign tasks for each staff member, covering setup, reception, event teardown, and side work. Conduct pre-shift meetings to inspect uniforms, review assignments, and go over event details with the team. Coordinate with the kitchen/chef to ensure seamless service and ensure the room is set to guest specifications. Greet the host and stay in contact throughout the event. Collaborate with the Director of Food & Beverage and/or Event Coordinator to plan events. Ensure cleanliness and organization of storage areas, and monitor uniform control. Review the menu for each event, being ready to explain ingredients and preparation methods. Check for employee attendance, report tardiness, and inspect the function area for cleanliness and setup. Assign stations and side work per departmental procedures. Function: Ensure staff is ready and on the floor as soon as doors open. Build rapport with guests, remembering their names and providing personalized service. Work with the host to time service perfectly and keep servers available to clear, bus, and answer questions. Ensure replenishment of items as per the BEO and guest requests. Anticipate customer needs and respond promptly, while following alcohol service policies. Handle guest complaints within your authority and escalate when necessary. Report any unusual events or issues to supervisors and/or security. Schedule employee breaks to avoid disrupting service flow. Post-Function: Oversee food breakdown, return unused food to the kitchen, and ensure proper storage. Tally charges, prepare checks, and present to the function contact for payment. Check storage areas for organization and cleanliness, and inform management of additional supply needs. Reset the room for the next event. Working Conditions: Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. occasionally and work extended hours during peak seasons (e.g., golf and holidays). Required to work weekends and holidays, and handle physical activity such as standing, walking, and bending. Fast-paced, high-traffic environments with moderate to loud noise levels.
