Backhoe Operator

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-start check-up / assessment of the unit before start of the engine
• Conduct post check-up / assessment of the unit after the shift
• Follow instructions from immediate superiors in the working or mining areas
• Operate equipment safely, carefully, and cost-effectively
• Provide written reports at the end of each shift
• Follow traffic and road signs
• Load various materials and maintain crusher materials as needed
• Load ore materials and excavate to the correct elevation as per survey markup
• Construct bund walls/safety berms
• Perform scaling/sloping of walls as per survey markup
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Possess valid license with restriction codes 1, 2, 3, & 8
• At least one (1) year of experience in heavy equipment operation
• Ability to interact effectively with staff at all levels in a fast-paced environment
• Trade testing passer
