Overview

Automotive Helpdesk Technician at The AA. This role involves providing expert technical support and advice to customers via telephone, acting as the go-to expert for telephone fixes and directing patrols where needed. You will be part of a growing team and play a key role in assisting customers and contact centre staff.

Responsibilities

  • The Technical Advisor provides essential technical support, advice, and repair fixes to customers, ensuring attendance is limited to genuine breakdown scenarios.
  • Communicate effectively to resolve breakdowns and provide excellent customer service.
  • Accurately record data on relevant databases; be computer literate and confident using various systems.
  • Explain complex technical information in simple terms to customers and patrols, maintaining high service standards.
  • Operate as a target-driven team member focused on achieving results.

What you’ll need

  • Mechanical Qualifications: NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent, plus substantial demonstrable experience in the motor vehicle repair industry.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to identify solutions and move customers forward.
  • Strong communication: translating technical information clearly and building customer confidence.
  • Flexibility: willing to work outside normal hours on a roster including weekends.

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary: ÂŁ35,000 per annum plus benefits
  • Shifts: Between 0700 – 2000, Monday to Sunday
  • Location: Oldbury Office, On Site Working
