Job Title: Scientific Technologist

Contract: 24 Month Contract

Salary: £19 per hour

Location: Bracknell, Jealotts Hill

Candidate is expected to have basic knowledge and understanding of the physical chemistry, preferably of the small organic crystals. This role will be laboratory based and involve the use of a variety of solid state technique for crystallising and characterising small organic molecule of active ingredients.

Typical techniques routinely used may include gas and/or liquid chromatography, powder x-ray diffraction (pXRD), Raman and light microscopy, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and other thermal methods to determine the physical form of a range of active ingredients.

Training on these techniques will be provided where needed as the candidate is not expected to be proficient in the use of all of the techniques listed above.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical and experimental support to the process engineering and particle science groups in the process studies group at Jeallots Hill.
  • In order to improve and develop manufacturing processes for new and existing products via technical understanding to support manufacturing plants and projects in meeting business targets.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, chemical or process engineering.
  • Experience with any of the following analytical techniques would be beneficial: DSC, TGA, XRD, SEM, NMR, HPLC and GC.
  • Experience with powder handling, crystallisations and wet chemistry would be beneficial.
