Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Assist the Test Centre Manager and Test Engineer(s) in the day-to-day support of the Test Centre.
  • Take responsibility for the mechanical maintenance of test rigs and supporting equipment.
  • Fault finding and problem solving across various fields to a high standard.
  • Possess multi-disciplinary skills in fitting, welding, fabrication, machining (manual mill and lathe), pneumatics, mechanical drive systems, and use of various hand tools.
  • Assist with commissioning and development of new equipment to meet test requirements and ensure rig consistency.
  • Maintain rig appearance, monitor, and report on condition.
  • Develop working knowledge of Test Centre Databases to provide data as needed.
  • Promote standards aligned with a Centre of Excellence committed to continual improvement.
  • Participate actively in current and future HSE site and corporate initiatives.
  • Turn and mill bespoke and small batch parts based on engineering drawings.
  • Maintain high levels of organization and attention to detail.
  • Perform planned maintenance checks.
  • Develop a working knowledge of control system operation.

  • Entry-level position requiring appropriate licenses and training certifications.

  • Perform routine activities using basic analytical and technical skills.

Requirements And Preferred Skills

  • 0-1 years of experience.
  • Fully trained fitter, preferably with experience in a similar role and machining.
  • Education to City & Guilds, SVQ3, or Modern Apprenticeship level.
  • Knowledge of safe machinery use and lockout systems.
  • Competent in mathematics and English, preferably to a higher standard.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Good knowledge of HSE legislation and machinery safety regulations.
