About the role

The Legal team sits at the heart of Revolut and it’s a very important part of the business. This lovely bunch supports all other Revolut teams, helping us achieve our goals each and every day. They’re special, they’re strong-willed, and they work on a lot of different areas. From structuring credit programmes to launching into new territories, the Legal team does it all. We’re looking for a Legal Counsel who’ll focus on empowering the business through sound regulatory and strategic advice. You’ll manage and support a wide range of trading and related product features, as well as providing day-to-day pragmatic legal advice to key stakeholders as a business partner. What you’ll be doing

  • Launching new investment products and services, from conducting legal assessments of initiatives to preparing customer-facing documents and providing ongoing support thereafter
  • Advising on complex legal and regulatory issues surrounding structuring of new products and services, marketing, and promotion of investment products
  • Researching a range of complex legal and regulatory questions and providing legal analyses and recommendations to support business initiatives and decisions
  • Advising on resolution of customer complaints and disputes
  • Partnering up with our Commercial Legal Counsels in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating regulatory parts of agreements and legal documents
  • Drafting, planning, and/or implementing compliance policies and procedures for regulatory matters for investment products
  • Identifying, assessing, monitoring, managing, and reporting on operational, legal, regulatory, and compliance risk in relation to investment products

What you’ll need

  • A master’s degree or equivalent in law
  • 3+ years of wealth and trading experience in investment services, financial markets, and/or asset management
  • Experience as a private-practice lawyer at a top law firm
  • Knowledge and experience in advising customers on MiFID II, MiFIR, EMIR, PRIIPS, UCITS implementation, and providing legal support in relation to associated policies and contractual frameworks
  • A business-oriented mindset to find actionable solutions to legal and regulatory challenges
  • Ownership skills and the ability to work independently in ambiguous situations
  • A genuine interest in financial markets with broad-based securities and/or asset management experience
  • A good understanding of financial markets and complex financial instruments
  • Exceptional project management and communication skills, including the ability to oversee implementation of complex projects
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills to analyse complex information and identify the key issue/action to drive resolutions
  • Fluency in English
  • Excellent academic and law firm credentials
