HGV Class 1 Driver Night Shift

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and reliable HGV Class 1 Driver to work Nights. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety and efficiency while delivering goods to various locations and collecting goods overnight. This role requires the ability to operate a Class 1 HGV, manage deliveries in a timely manner. As a Truck Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our operations run smoothly and that our customers receive their products as promised. Based just outside of Southampton city centre. Basic Annual Salary: £37,440.00 (£720.00 paid weekly). Additional Per Night Premium: £43,160.00 Annual on Target Earnings). Night Driver Shift (5pm Start), Full-time, 48-Hours Guaranteed Per Week, Overtime available. Depending on your level of experience and interview feedback we may offer a 12-week temporary to permanent working trial (paid weekly), and when you have completed this probation period then you will become a permanent member of the team (paid weekly). Responsibilities: * Supervise the loading of the vehicle so that products are safely loaded and secured to minimise chances of damage. * Ensure the load is correct against the customers’ orders and documentation. * Ensure that on arrival the delivery is safe to make and respect customer’s property. * Check goods off with Customers and obtain signature and printed name. * If any errors exist mark documentation accordingly and consult with Traffic Office. * Provide excellent customer service. * Handle customer issues on delivery effectively and avoid getting over involved * Carry out deliveries in a timely and safe manner. * Drive the vehicle safely and in accordance with the law and SSOW. * Drive within the tachograph law and driver hours limits. * Look after the vehicle and ensure that it is not subjected to unnecessary damage. * Maintain the cleanliness of the driving cab. * Comply with fuel directives from the traffic department. * Ensure you comply with all the company SSOW. * Report any accidents immediately and in compliance with the company’s accident reporting procedure. * Complete vehicle daily inspection sheet and return to the traffic office. Essential Requirements: * Hold UK Driving licence, valid CPC, and Digi card. * HGV Class 1 driving experience. * Excellent English communication skills. * Eligible to work full-time permanent in the UK. * Based in Southampton, Hampshire area. * Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. * Ability to work independently and professionally as part of a team. * A commitment to safety and adherence to regulations at all times. * No previous DR or DD endorsements.
