Purpose: The Finance and Accounting Associate role will be a key member of the Elanco UK finance team. This is an entry level role and will offer the candidate an opportunity to join a high performing, globally recognized finance organization, supporting the highest standards of internal and external financial reporting, controls and compliance for both our UK and Irish legal entities. This is being posted as a fixed duration contract with an initial contract period of 12 months. The Company recently acquired a manufacturing site which has approximately doubled the size of the UK headcount and increased the scope and complexity of internal and external reporting obligations. We are also in a period of stabilization and integration of systems, processes and controls.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
- US GAAP accounting: the finance associate will support many aspects of the month end close process for both UK and Ireland legal entities, including ownership of certain general ledger accounts, journal postings, account reconciliations, and the preparation of the functional income statement report for monthly finance review.
- Supporting the monthly accounting for payroll, revenue and gross to net, leases.
- External financial reporting: supporting the financial statement preparations, GAAP to Stat and annual audit.
- Other external reporting: supporting the Companies' compliance with all other financial reporting obligations including but not limited to Payments Reporting, ONS returns, Environmental reporting.
- Purchase to Pay: supporting the administration of manual and urgent payments, adhoc purchase order requests and liaison with the Elanco shared service centre.
- The financial associate will support the UK&I financial planning processes during the critical planning cycles and will provide adhoc support to commercial business in evaluating investment decisions.
- Customer price incentives: analysis of the discount and rebate terms negotiated upon with new and existing customers to determine the commercial effect to Elanco.
- Working with Elanco's internal AI capabilities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of reporting and business partnering.
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree (or similar) in Finance or Accounting, or equivalent work experience (applications from final-year students are also welcome).
- Proven analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in local/regional/global team environment and communicate effectively with both internal business partners of all levels & disciplines as well as external stakeholders such as auditors and tax authorities.
- Strong Microsoft experience in Word, PowerPoint and highly proficient in Excel.
- Fluency in English language.
Additional Skills / Preferences:
- Experience of SAP/ Power BI.
