Kinetic Recruitment are currently resourcing for a Stores Person to provide support within the warehouse at our client's busy site in Heaton. The role is an ongoing temporary assignment working dayshift Monday - Friday 37 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
- Accepts incoming goods and compares them with the accompanying shipping document (Material number, description, quantity).
- Checks incoming goods for visible damage.
- Presents goods for formal inspection when appropriate and provides information if required.
- Takes care to use the correct type of transport equipment (hand-guided industrial trucks, forklift, etc.) and uses the correct PPE provided.
- Captures all relevant data in the company data processing systems.
- After the acceptance of goods, responsible for the storage (put away in the correct locations), plus, recording these stock movements in the appropriate company data systems.
- Assembles deliveries (internal & external) from given storage locations and reviews these for completeness and accuracy (e.g. quantity and article number in reference to the respective delivery notes), plus, recording these stock movements of goods in the appropriate company data systems.
- Organises a regular stock maintenance and inventory in the storage area.
- Adds the corresponding shipping documents to the outgoing goods.
- Completes transports inside the (and if applicable outside) premises with the professional usage of the appropriate means of transportation.
- Informing the purchasing department of low stock quantities, missing or damaged parts to avoid delays in production.
- Practice and promote continuous improvement in all Department areas.
Skills and Experience:
- Qualifications relevant to material control.
- Licence for Fork-Lift Truck, plus experience.
- Driving licence for vehicles up to 7.5 tonne gross weight.
- Experience in a material control or warehousing environment.
- Experience in SAP is advantageous.
- Experience in the operation of a MRP system.
- Experience with Word and Excel computer software.
- Experience in setting up a storage facility.
