We are seeking an experienced Electronic Engineer to join a highly skilled small team, working in a technically challenging and highly regulated environment. The successful candidate will lead electronic and embedded firmware design and development projects for avionics and maritime applications. This role is ideal for a proactive individual with at least 5 years of experience; however, our client is happy to consider applicants at a Junior / Graduate level.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Capture and trace requirements from customer specifications to detailed design.
- Design and simulate schematics (OrCAD and KiCAD experience preferred).
- Review PCB layouts (experience with Allegro is a plus).
- Develop embedded firmware (VHDL and C).
- Support verification and qualification processes (knowledge of DO-178, DO-254, BS EN 61508 beneficial).
- Generate and maintain design documentation.
- Take ownership of assigned work packages, ensuring timely delivery within budget and technical requirements.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in electronic engineering or similar in a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in electronic design and development; however, we will also consider recent graduates.
- Schematic design and capture skills (OrCAD experience ideal).
- Proficiency in embedded programming.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to learning new technologies.
- Knowledge of video standards or power circuitry design a benefit.
