We are seeking caring, flexible, and enthusiastic individuals to support vulnerable people with personal and social care. The role involves encouraging independence and helping clients remain in their own homes within their communities, aligning with the Health & Social Care Partnerships\’ key objectives and the Council’s Community Plan. No previous formal care experience is necessary. Candidates with personal experience caring for family and friends may have transferable skills. Full induction training will be provided. We offer a range of permanent and temporary positions across East Ayrshire, with flexible temporary contracts including day and back shift options. Roles include: Community Care Officer – caring role in the community Intermediate Care and Enablement team – providing enablement Home from Hospital team – supporting hospital discharge and end-of-life care Community Alarms team – emergency response carers We offer a competitive salary of £13.59 – £14.26 per hour plus shift allowance , along with benefits such as: Training and development opportunities, including qualifications like SVQ Flexible shift patterns, including static dayshift, backshift, and 2-week rotation Payment for travel expenses Up to 32 days of leave per year (pro-rata) Payment of SSSC registration fees Employee discounts at various companies Requirements Important for those with conditional SSSC registration requiring SVQ2 Applicants must have at least 6 months remaining on their registration. Those with 6-18 months remaining may receive funding support but will be on a fixed-term contract until their registration expires. Applicants with over 18 months remaining will be placed on a waiting list with support for qualification completion. Responsibilities The role involves regulated work with children and/or protected adults as per the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful candidates will need to become or update their PVG Scheme membership before employment begins. Note: PVG records are regularly updated, and any relevant disclosures will be discussed with applicants prior to employment offers.
