About the Role: We’re looking for a talented and detail-driven Illustrator with an active security clearance to join a creative team supporting a top-tier U.S. defense research lab in the Boston, MA area. This is a hands-on, onsite role focused on creating high-quality visual materials that communicate complex technical concepts with clarity and impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop technical and conceptual illustrations, infographics, and visual content to support defense-related research and communication
- Work closely with scientists, engineers, and communication specialists to translate ideas into compelling visuals
- Create print and digital materials using Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.)
- Follow secure design protocols and contribute to documentation management
- Ensure artwork is consistent with branding and security requirements
Required Qualifications/Abilities:
- Active U.S. Security Clearance (DoD Secret or higher)
- 3+ years of professional illustration/graphic design experience
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
- Strong portfolio showcasing both technical and creative illustration work
- Ability to provide a Portfolio of work
- Ability to work onsite full-time in a secure facility in the Boston, MA area
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a government, defense, or research environment
- Understanding of technical/scientific illustration standards and best practices
- Familiarity with motion graphics or 3D visualization a plus (not required)
