We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to become an integral part of our engineering team, contributing to the delivery of advanced technical solutions across a range of custom-built projects. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on innovation, collaboration, and hands-on problem-solving within complex technical environments.

This is a key position supporting our commitment to engineering excellence, and you will work alongside senior technical staff to deliver solutions that meet unique client needs on time and within scope.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver electrical engineering input across full project life cycles, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
  • Develop and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) using ERP systems such as CALIACH, and generate work orders from CAD/ePlan drawings.
  • Communicate professionally across internal teams and with external customers and suppliers.
  • Maintain adherence to company quality standards and documentation protocols.
  • Collaborate with multiple departments, including project management, production, and procurement.
  • Assist in the development of design concepts and schematic layouts in response to customer specifications, under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Support the preparation of technical documentation, including CE marking files and user manuals.
  • Assist senior staff in planning and tracking project deliverables to ensure key milestones are met.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Minimum of one year's experience in engineering within test cell environments or R&D-focused facilities.
  • Skilled in using electrical design software such as ePlan or AutoCAD.
  • Holds a relevant degree or equivalent practical experience in electrical engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong analytical abilities with a methodical approach to identifying and resolving technical issues.
  • Familiarity with systems such as motors, drives, PLCs, and general power distribution.
  • High attention to detail and a structured approach to organizing work.
  • Awareness of value engineering principles and how they apply to design work.
  • Willingness to undertake supervised travel to client sites, both in the UK and internationally.
  • Understanding of applicable standards such as BS EN 13849, BS 7671, and IEC 60204.
  • Solid grasp of core electrical engineering principles and best practices.
