Senior Manufacturing Engineer - Production Line Design

Development of a pull through production process utilising lean skills and core tools. Responsible for converting the Engineering Design intent into Manufacturing Engineering data for Manufacturing Operations use. Provide decision making information by calculating production, labour and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements; ensuring quality and repeatability. Act as project focal point for discipline specific tasks ensuring best practices are adopted and embedded.

Previous experience in a manufacturing engineering environment. Six Sigma Lean experience - DMEDI/DMAIC. Knowledge of APQP (Advance product quality planning). Knowledge of PAPP (Production Part Approval Process). Knowledge of NPI (New Product Introduction). Knowledge of PFMEA (Process Failure Modes and Effect Analysis). Pull through production line experience.

The Manufacturing Engineering team: The current programme, SSNA, has a substantial quantity of Submarines to manufacture, hence the requirement to produce boats with repeatability and predictability in terms of quality, manufacturing assurance and timing. The role will, initially, be involved in stabilising a condition of the company's requirements, where we can produce at the rate that is required by the business. Included in the overall role of the team will be creating and investigating opportunities, via Engineering, Jigs, Fixtures and Tooling, Facilities and Dimensional Management collaboration to ensure and potentially improve the requirements laid down by the business. This will in turn be amongst the elements to improve and develop existing and new processes.
