Leaders Romans Group are looking for a new Statutory Accountant to join us on a permanent basis based in our busy office in Crowthorne House, Wokingham. In this Statutory Accountant role, day to day you can expect to:
- Overseeing and producing primary statements and disclosure notes for the annual consolidated report and accounts.
- Drive the production of the statutory consolidation and group accounts (in excel) and the statutory accounts in Caseware.
- Coordinating and delivering the work required to establish accurate standards.
- Owning the production of the annual subsidiary accounts.
- Supporting the interim and year end external reporting process and audit.
- Liaising with auditors on key year end and half year deliverables, discussing potential situations that can arise during the statutory reporting process, along with internal auditors.
- Assisting with and preparing technical accounting papers for submission to the Group’s statutory auditors, and to prepare contributions for papers submitted to the Group Audit Committee and Group Board.
- Acting as a subject matter expert for financial reporting.
- Provision of technical accounting knowledge and support across the financial reporting teams.
- Delivery of accurate reporting within the reporting timelines ensuring compliance with Group policies.
- Support on the US tax reporting (predominantly requires accounting info not tax info).
To be considered for this role, you will need the following experience and skills:
- ACA qualified, with 1-2 years PQE and with experience of large organisations, ideally as an external auditor with one of the Big 4 or from a group reporting function.
- Up-to-date knowledge of UKGAAP.
- Experience of preparing or auditing UKGAAP financial statements.
- Experience in applying technical accounting standards in a group consolidation context, also in subsidiary financial statements.
- Excellent time management and organisation skills - Be a self-motivator and show an ability to ‘get the job done’ without close supervision.
- Drive and determination to deliver outstanding results as the company grows.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Knowledge of IFRS 16 and lease accounting.
