The Operations team are currently recruiting for a Transport Team Leader to join the Fishergate site, based in Norwich. This role is on a Double Days Shift Pattern. The successful applicant will need to demonstrate full flexibility in terms of shift patterns and work areas within the operations function. Previous experience working within a factory/operations environment or working shifts will be an advantage. Full training will be provided to develop the necessary skills for this role.

Main Purpose of Job Working supervisor position with approximately 50% of working week to be spent on loading/unloading vehicles and managing the movement of incoming vehicles and deliveries in line with Company health and safety and operational standards. The remaining 50% is allocated to supervisory duties including ensuring team members follow the appropriate standards and organising and planning their work. Providing necessary site Health and Safety instruction to arriving drivers and other visitors. Oversee the activity/movement of all drivers (LGV and Forklift Truck) during their time onsite to ensure they adhere to site H&S rules. Organise the work of a small team of Forklift Drivers, allocating specific vehicles to load/unload. Manning the Despatch office as required signing in visiting tradespeople and contractors and accepting general incoming deliveries. Advising drivers of allocated loading bay and acting as banksman in line with safety procedures. Update computerised Company planning system as loads are completed - recording relevant vehicle details and any issues. Liaising with haulier partner to call down vehicles, additional pallets and raw materials to support production activities. Liaising with Operations Team and providing details of stock held, loads complete and any developing issues Leading Continuous Improvement projects to increase efficiency.

Qualifications (essential and desirable) Counterbalance Forklift license taken or refreshed in the last 3 years.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience (essential and desirable) Health and safety focus, IOSH trained. Knowledge of how the business operates from sales through to despatch. Strong people management skills. Experience of managing to operational standards and key performance indicators. Good organisational skills with an ability to manage workload and priorities of self and team. Excellent communication skills – verbal (face to face and telephone) and written (email). IT skills. Ability to problem solve. Able to build effective relationships with colleagues and other external contacts.
