Job Title: Director, Cell Culture / Upstream Manufacturing

My client, a medium sized biotech company, currently have an urgent requirement for a Cell Culture Upstream Manufacturing specialist to join at Director level. In this role you will be responsible for overseeing the company’s Technical Operations function who are responsible for Upstream Manufacturing activities as well as bridging developing processes from research to GMP manufacturing activities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct technical reviews of new upstream Master Batch Records (including seed train, production, and primary recovery)
  • Examine executed upstream batch records for compliance with the Process Description and extract relevant data into an electronic database for analysis.
  • Collaborate in a team environment to coordinate the review of upstream batch records with the quality organization.
  • Compile data from process development and GMP campaigns to evaluate cell culture performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and design experiments to enhance or maintain process robustness.

Requirements:

  • MSc/ PhD in Life Science based degree
  • Extensive experience in Process Development/Manufacturing in a biotech/pharma company
  • Experience with Technology Transfer from one production site to another, GMP general upstream and downstream manufacturing processes, process characterization with emphasis in upstream process development experience
