Job Description:
The Senior Line Leader role is designed to oversee and guide the packing team towards achieving project and organizational goals efficiently and coherently. This position involves mentorship, project management, and operational oversight to ensure team efforts align with broader company objectives. By fostering a collaborative environment, the Senior Line Leader ensures team engagement and effective contribution, serving as a liaison between the team and line manager. The role requires a nuanced understanding of both organizational goals and day-to-day team challenges to enable informed decision-making that drives progress and improvement.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Prepare work according to the production schedule and assign tasks to workers on the production line.
- Evaluate incoming orders and set up the production line accordingly.
- Optimize packing line efficiency by monitoring productivity and quality.
- Identify and resolve production line problems promptly.
- Train and supervise new packing line workers.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely order completion.
- Maintain a fully operational, safe, and tidy work environment proactively.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Participate in SOP creation and review processes.
- Complete comprehensive shift reports, recording all downtime accurately and informing the line manager.
- Recognize high and low performance, providing feedback to the line manager.
- Support continuous improvement activities alongside the line manager.
- Conduct weekly stock checks and flag low stock levels to the line manager.
- Demonstrate excellent knowledge of D365 and ability to complete tasks independently.
- Identify potential problems and take appropriate action, updating managers or other departments as necessary.
- Ensure housekeeping (clean as you go) and 5S systems are strictly followed.
- Ensure all team members are trained in all areas of the KR department.
- Monitor, control, and minimize waste; report issues and suggest improvements.
- Undertake additional duties as required, such as covering supervisor absence.
Sustainability Responsibility:
- Ensure all duties and actions contribute to the short- and long-term Sustainability Goals set by the Client, focusing on Climate, Biodiversity, and People Pillars.
Qualifications & Characteristics:
- Good standard of UK/European education or equivalent.
- Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience in leading teams preferred.
- Proficient PC skills, especially MS Excel.
- Strong planning and organizing skills.
- Results-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Flexible approach and proactive attitude.
