Purpose of the job The role of the Nurse Case Manager is to provide medical assistance and advice to customers/partners of Collinson provide medical support to the operational department and deliver effective medical assistance and guidance to policyholders whilst supporting the cost containment of assistance cases. The role is also involved in providing recommendations for medical repatriation and delivering medical guidance to ensure safe transfer of policyholders back to their country of residence. Key responsibilities Medical Case management including communicating and liaising with medical professionals and customers/policyholders worldwide Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer Chief Medical Officer/Duty Doctor as per guidelines where escalation is needed. Reviewing of medical reports with accurate and timely completion of case notes and advising next steps Assess each individual medical case and monitor accordingly to ensure services remain safe efficient and effective Process cases in accordance with department procedures agreed authority levels and professional bodies Advising on all aspects of repatriation requirements (Transport and Medical). Assist the repatriation team in selecting the correct escort Arranging UK NHS client admissions when appropriate. Assist with the maintenance of medical equipment and medical disposables Check and maintain medical repatriation equipment to agreed standards Maintain professional awareness with medical and nursing current practice and clinical techniques to ensure safe practice for client. Manage personal development clinical skills and qualifications in line with all necessary professional body recommendations Assistance with maintaining clinical governance Assess workload and nature of case prioritise accordingly and take responsibility for your own list of cases Understand and use the necessary programmes applications and IT software systems Gather and provide suitable information on a wide variety of health related queries using research based factual and up to date medical Must abide by promote and adhere to the Collinson Group culture and standards Knowledge skills and experience required Registered General Nurse Minimum 5 years post registration experience with exposure to acute setting either A&E / ICU / CCU Evidence of current registration with appropriate professional body e.g NMC Evidence of meeting PREP requirements PC literate with accurate keyboard and computer skills. Current membership with Royal College of Nursing or equivalent which offers professional indemnity.
