CTDI are hiring! Qualifications, skills, and all relevant experience needed for this role can be found in the full description below. Are you proficient in Solidworks and CAD design? Can you prepare assembly and part manufacturing drawings to BS 8888 standard? If that’s a yes, this could be the job for you! We are seeking an Automation Engineer to join our new Wellingborough site in developing and maintaining automated systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong Software controls background and expertise in continuous improvement methodologies. Key responsibilities: Ability to innovate and create cost effective concept designs for customer approval Liaise with various suppliers to select the optimal solution Preparation and assembly and part manufacture drawings to BS8888 standard in aid of quotation, manufacturing and build purposes. Fabricate and weld components for automation systems Utilise mechanical knowledge to design and implement automation solutions Program and troubleshoot logic controllers for efficient system operation Conduct root cause analysis on automation failures Create and interpret schematics using GD&T principles Collaborate with the engineering team to develop automation projects In regards to your knowledge, perhaps you have a qualification in Software Engineering, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics or a comparable technical qualification. You will also have either ST (Structured Test) OR C#/C++ experience with an emphasis on PLC or motion controllers programming. Ladder Logic, Raspberry Pi, Arduino are all plus skills, but ST and/or Embedded C/C++/C# are necessary. We are looking for an individual who has experience with machine-control APIs and familiarity developing machine controls for complex systems. This role also requires you to have excellent data analysis skills to drive informed decision-making and conduct root cause analysis and implement effective solutions. Plus having strong communications skills to deal with all internal stakeholders from other engineering teams to IT is vital.
