Key Responsibilities: Practice autonomously and work without supervision. Collect forensic samples, including venous blood. Issue medication in line with the Patient Group Directive. Assess individuals to determine fitness for detention or interview. Attend custody suites and external sites such as hospitals. Qualifications and Experience: Registered General Nurse or Paramedic with current registration (NMC or equivalent). Minimum of 3 years post-registration experience, competency level equivalent to \’pay band 6\’. Background in Emergency Department, acute medical setting, or relevant discipline. Certificate in Phlebotomy and cannulation. Competent in IT, particularly Microsoft Office products and email. Full manual driving license. Skills and Attributes: Excellent communication and rapport-building skills. Good information gathering, problem-solving, and clinical decision-making skills. Ability to maintain professional detachment and work in an enforcement environment. Good organizing and time management skills, attention to detail, and ability to share knowledge effectively. Working Conditions: 24/7 shift pattern covering days and nights. You will be required to attend custody suites in a number of policing areas as well as external sites such as hospitals, driving police vehicles, hence a full manual driving licence is essential. Working within busy custody suites engaging with individuals under difficult or sometimes confrontational circumstances. Two-week induction-training program provided.
