This is a great opportunity for someone who is an experienced customer service or salesperson looking to get into a proactive Account Management/Business Development role. Our client has been established for over 100 years, supplying products and materials to companies within the aerospace, electronics, automotive, catering and agricultural industries. This role has been newly created to look after existing clients across the UK plus identifying new business opportunities and new markets as growth areas. Working alongside the external sales representatives, you will be tasked with finding new sales opportunities.
Duties:
- Research and identify new business opportunities – including new markets, growth areas, products and services
- Information gathering such as getting the correct contact within an organisation
- Follow up quotations generated by the sales team
- Warm call existing customers, generate leads and cold call potential customers
- Visit customers
- Understand the needs of your customers and be able to respond effectively with a plan of action
- Be able to think strategically – see the bigger picture. Set goals and objectives to develop new business
- Support bid-writing for new grants and contracts
- Attend seminars, conferences and events to build your business network and profile
- Carry out sales forecasts and analysis
The Ideal Person:
- Experience in sales, account management or customer services
- Professional with good communication skills

- Must be proactive and be able to manage their own workload

- Tenacious – have a thick skin as this is needed in any sales environment!

Basic Salary will be between £33,000 to £35,000. There will be a commission structure but this hasn’t been finalised as yet (to be discussed at interview). Hours of work are Monday to Thursday 8.15am to 5pm, Friday 8.15am to 4pm. This is an office-based role (no hybrid), however, you will manage your own diary so can be out visiting customers. Holidays – 23 days plus Bank Holidays, rising to 25 after 5 years. Company Pension. Free on-site parking. Gym.
