Opportunity available for a Cable Systems Design Engineer / Power Systems Engineer, working with a leading power engineering consultancy. The Cable Design Engineer will be responsible for producing LV and HV (11kV – 132kV) cable designs for power distribution projects. Responsibilities: Carry out power systems studies cable rating / sizing and sheath bonding assessments, as well as load flow and short circuit studies Design of grid connection and private network cables Produce material schedules and technical specifications for cables Review cable aspects for various projects, including interconnectors, offshore and onshore schemes Ensure cable designs follow UK standards, legislation, DNO specifications, company policies and client requirements Issue drawings, including route layouts, cross sections, joint bay layouts, bonding and cable termination diagrams Requirements: Experience as a Cable Design Engineer or Power Systems Engineer for HV distribution schemes Understanding of NERS requirements, ENA engineering recommendations and grid code for protection settings Degree or equivalent in an Electrical Engineering discipline This is your opportunity to join a thriving business and be part of a friendly team of HV engineering experts.
