You will have experience of designing mens footwear for a high fashion retailer and be willing to bring with you your excellent drawing skills and practical knowledge of shoe design in order to support our designers.
We are looking for someone who is excited to join our small team and play an important role in creating our design lead, fashion relevant, dynamic collections. You will be responsible for assisting in the development of customer and market focused product collections each season that are in line with the company strategy for the brand. You will be researching trends, new materials, trims and colour palettes and designing new products incorporating your original ideas. You will be providing technical drawings for suppliers, finalising the approved designs for production. You will be working closely with the buying team to ensure fit and aesthetics meet brand requirements.
Requirements
- Have a strong understanding of and passion for the Kurt Geiger brand, customer and collections
- Be able to produce high quality work (Cads and Specs) quickly and efficiently.
- To be engaged and enthusiastic about the fashion industry with strong knowledge of luxury and high street trends and have the ability to contribute and apply this to our brand
- Be able to produce original, creative and brand appropriate ideas based on upcoming trends
- Have the ability and passion to work across multiple product categories
- Be confident in presenting your designs formally and informally
- To have excellent communication skills with your team, other teams and suppliers
- Be flexible with the ability to change and reprioritise what you are working on when required
- Have strong technical and practical knowledge that allows you to deliver accurate samples
- Be able to take responsibility for your design work, following samples through until a perfect sample is delivered to the deadlines – a thorough and proactive approach in sample management
- Be able to work without supervision but be part of a team
