We focus on design, construction, installation, commissioning, operation, maintenance, decommissioning and dismantling also covering logistics and documentation.
My Client, a major Global aerospace company, is looking for a Simulation and Modelling Engineer initially on a 6 month contract basis. In this role you will be working on major programmes within the Systems Engineering team, which will include Research & Technology projects, development programmes and in-service support.
You will be delivering performance and dynamic analysis for the mechanical, hydraulic and occasionally basic electrical systems as they relate to the operation of aircraft, landing gear, shock absorbers, extension/retraction and steering. You will be able to understand and derive requirements and how these impact the validation and verification of the product utilising standardised methods and tools. Possessing good knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic system products, you will help guide product development to ensure the performance and dynamics of the integrated system meet the program requirements.
Key responsibilities of this role include:
- Building computational models and running simulations at component, equipment, system and aircraft level
- Calculation of static and dynamic loads
- Conducting frequency response analyses
- Conducting stability, shimmy, modal analysis and failure case analyses
- Correlation and validation of computational models
- Definition and validation of performance and dynamics requirements for landing gear systems
- Definition and documentation of simulation cases and pass/fail criteria
- Optimisation of design solutions in conjunction with other engineering disciplines
- Definition of test requirements and analysis and interpretation of test results
- Ensuring adherence to the programme schedules, quality and cost
Qualifications
Knowledge of:
- Multi-body dynamic modelling and simulation
- Landing gear extension/retraction analysis
- Shock absorber performance analysis
- Recoil analysis
- Shimmy and stability analysis
- System loads generation
- Finite Element Analysis
- Model Integration
- Working knowledge of Python, MATLAB/Simulink, MSC ADAMS, MSC EASY5 and AMESim
Additional Information
Initial 6 month contract. Hybrid 2 days onsite after initial training. Salary between £50,000 and £60,000 dependent upon experience.
