About the Project: Sizewell C (SZC) is at the heart of the UK’s clean energy revolution. This ground-breaking nuclear power plant project in Suffolk will play a vital role in delivering a sustainable future. The Role: The Assistant Project Manager reports directly to a Project Manager and is responsible for supporting the Project Manager and wider team in delivering activities associated with the full life cycle delivery of a contract or work package assigned to them. This role involves supporting the planning and delivery of engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, and commissioning activities throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, time, and cost parameters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting planning and delivery of the full lifecycle of the contract or project work packages.
- Managing engineering design, contract, and field execution strategies.
- Overseeing multi-discipline EPCM projects and complex contracts.
- Controlling costs, risks, schedules, and changes, with proficiency in Earned Value tools.
- Understanding PWR design and operations.
- Maintaining effective stakeholder, supplier, and team communication.
- Responding to tender queries and participating in technical reviews.
- Developing relationships and maintaining networks.
- Resolving issues promptly within the contact or package.
- Supporting interface management with other programs to ensure overall project progress.
- Ensuring delivery of scope of work deliverables.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Degree and chartered status in engineering, construction, physics, or related field.
- Experience in infrastructure project design and/or delivery.
- Knowledge of CDM Regulations, APM body of knowledge, and Prince 2.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to learn from experiences.
- Ability to adapt to fast-paced environments.
- Strong presentation, influencing, and organizational skills.
- Numerical and analytical skills.
