We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Real Estate Claims Handler Casualty to join a leading global Loss Adjusting firm within their Real Estate team, based in Chelmsford. This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in handling Public Liability (PL) claims and who thrives in a technical and collaborative environment. The role offers exposure to both UK and European claims and the chance to work with a highly respected team in the market.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Full cradle-to-grave technical handling of UK and European Real Estate Casualty claims, primarily Public Liability (injury and third-party property damage)
- Conducting desktop investigations to assess policy coverage, reserves, and liability
- Liaising with insureds, insurers, brokers, adjusters, and other stakeholders to progress claims and deliver excellent service
- Managing client accounts and delivering tailored MI reporting
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with internal and external policies, including GDPR and data protection
- Participating in invoicing, billing, and performance tracking
- Supporting UK and European Casualty Adjusters and internal Account Management Teams
- Producing high-quality reports and formal advice to clients
About You Knowledge and Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience handling Public Liability claims on a full-handling basis (not just assisting)
- Experience must be with an insurer or loss adjuster, not exclusively in a broker setting
- Confident handling both injury and property damage claims
- Familiar with UK protocols such as the low-value claims portal
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a wider team
- Strong communication and reporting skills
- Self-motivated, with a proactive and detail-oriented approach
- Exposure to Real Estate claims or European claims is desirable but not essential
- Professional claims qualification (or working towards one) is a plus
- European language skills (e.g., Spanish, French, German, Italian) would be advantageous
