About Us: At AmcoGiffen, we are a trusted leader in engineering, civils, and rail sectors, with a proven track record of delivering innovative solutions across the UK. Our in-house steel fabrication team has experienced significant growth, specialising in heavy steel structures for projects such as Access for All (AfA) rail upgrades, lift shafts, bridges, and asset refurbishments.
The Role: As a Project Manager within our fabrication division, you will play a vital role in ensuring the successful delivery of our projects. You’ll lead from the front, coordinating resources, managing stakeholder relationships, and maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. Your leadership will ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead projects through all lifecycle phases—from pre-qualification and tendering to final delivery.
- Manage project scope, deadlines, and responsibilities, ensuring smooth progress.
- Oversee health and safety, quality, environmental compliance, and contractual obligations.
- Coordinate subcontractors and resources effectively to meet project milestones.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote best practices.
- Monitor progress, handle contract variations, and resolve issues proactively.
- Cultivate strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, representing the company professionally.
- Support the recruitment, onboarding, and development of workshop technicians.
- Collaborate with Design, Engineering, and Shop Floor teams, working independently to meet objectives.
What You Bring:
- Proven experience as a Project Manager in steelwork and steel structure installation.
- HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (minimum).
- Full UK Driving License.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- A commitment to safety, quality, and delivering projects that exceed expectations.
